Controls

All of knobs and sliders on the interface have 3 editing modes:

Automation is enabled for all controls.

Sound tabs

On top of the interface (1) you can select one of the sounds for editing. They are displayed like tabs, the active sound is highlighted and the controls of only this sound are displayed.

Each of the 10 sounds of drumatic have an identical architecture and

Oscillator section

The oscillator section (2) consists of 2 oscillators with each 7 types:

Select the note icon above the oscillators to snap the frequency to the nearest midi note. Use the FM knob to send the output of oscillator 2 to the pitch of oscillator 2.

Hit section

The hit section controls the attack pulse wich can be used to control the attack of a sound.
Use the 'LP' (Low-pass filter) knob to make it sound softer or harder and the 'vol' knob to control the volume.
The hit types range from 808/909 style to accoustic, metallic or wood.
In addition to this, there's a 'Hit generator' mode available from the pulldown menu. This mode gives you even more control over timbre of the 'hit'.

Filters

Each of the 3 sections of the sound feature the same filter with the following types:

6dB filters (no resonance)
- Low pass, High pass, Low shelf, High shelf

12dB filters
- Low pass, Band pass, High pass, Low shelf, Peak, High shelf and Band reject

Low Pass 12dB Analog
Use the 'key' button to enable key tracking for the filter.
You can use the filter envelope to modulate the cutoff frequency.

Envelopes

Each sound has a total of 7 graphical envelopes.
The oscillator section has an envelope to control the volume, pitch and filter cutoff.
Both noise sections have envelopes to control the volume and filter.
The envelopes can be selected for editing by using the('vol'/'mod'/'filt') tabs top of each envelope.
To select your attack and release curves use the right mouse button in the attack and release area's.

Use the envelope mode button to change the behaviour of the envelope. There are 3 modes:

You can either control the envelopes with the a/r/l (attack, release, level) sliders or just drag the lines in the graphical envelope.

Keyboard

Each of the 10 sounds can be set to a specific key range on the keyboard (5).
By default the sounds are set to the default General Midi Drum Mapping. (just one key per sound)
To change the range, use the right mouse button to drag the first or last note of the range to the desired notes.
Yo can enable the 'user' button make your own keyrange that will be locked while switching presets.
You can disable the 'user' button again to switch back to the original keyrange as stored in the patch.

Noise 1 & 2 sections

There are 2 identical noise sections (3 & 4) available per sound with over 30 types of noise to choose from.

Use the 'pitch' knob to adjust the pitch of the noise.
Use the 'stereo' knob to add a wider stereo image to the sound.
Enable 'key' to make the pitch of the noise respond to midi keys.
Enable 'trig' (retrigger) to let the noise restart at gate. This will cause the sound to be identical every gate.

The cymbal generator has slightly different controls as there is an additional 'color' knob to tune the 6 oscillators that generate the sound.
The key and restart buttons are disabled in this mode.

Mixer / Velocity

The mixer / velocity panel is on the right hand of the screen (6).
On top of the panel there are 2 tabs to switch between the 'Mixer' and 'Velocity' view.

Mixer

In the mixer tab, the oscillator, noise 1 and noise 2 parts are mixed together. You can mute each part of the sound individually by clicking the 'speaker' icon next to the volume knob of the part.
There's a simple effect section available with a Bitcrusher, Distortion and Compressor effect.
On the bottom of the panel you can set the global volume and pan of the sound.
To set the sound to one of 6 stereo output channels, select the desired number at the 'chnl' menu.
